Seven Billion Dreams. One Planet!
I grew up in Sweden. One of the “greenest” countries in the world. A country where environmental issues are intrinsic in politics and policy, where the culture is based around “slow-living”, where recycling has become the norm, and where turning waste into energy is a straightforward practice.

By growing up in this environment, sustainability has always come naturally to me. At the age of 8, I picked up a new hobby (and side hustle) – recycling plastic bottles and cans using Sweden’s bottle deposit scheme. At the age of 18, I volunteered at a local garden. And at the age of 22, I decided to give up meat and switch to a plant-based diet.

About Johanna

Throughout my life, climate consciousness has been an inherent practice of mine but it wasn’t until I moved to Florida in 2015 I realised how big of a challenge we have ahead of us to halt climate change. Whilst studying and working in one of the most powerful nations in the world, I was astonished by the environmental harm of the American lifestyle. It became evident that sustainability doesn’t come naturally to all and I think that sparked a true passion within me.

I have always been an advocate for change and by choosing a career in marketing I’ve been able to promote products and services in their various forms. But driving sales and profit for companies hasn’t ticked all the boxes for me. I wanted more. More purpose. More impact. More sustainability. For me, that’s what Planet Marketing is all about. Planet is a gateway for me to use my marketing turbines to harness the power of climate-conscious companies and ensure their message is understood and heard above all the noise out there. It is a total paradigm shift to the way marketing is approached, focusing on ethics, purpose, authenticity and transparency. I want to help tell socially conscious brand stories so they engage minds and win hearts.

Living with planetary boundaries is the most promising strategy for ensuring a healthy future. Human prosperity should not cost the earth. We may have seven billion dreams, but we only have one planet.
